Here's some videos from the fire at 38th and Lancaster that swallowed a few houses (and a tree, and a car...). The noises in the background are mostly chainsaws, as the fire department cut the roof off all the houses on the block to try (unsuccessfully) to stop the fire from ruining them all.
 
 
 
 
I saw this sign on a street in South Philly. The street seems to have been cobblestone, then they put gravel over it, started paving it, and then forgot, and left, without actually putting the pavement on.
